Despite the peaceful protest ongoing against the total disbandment of the Special Armed Response Squad (SARS) and threatenings of being resulted into a violent one, the government of the country seems less perturbed.
He (President Muhammadu Buhari) took to his official Twitter account to give his thoughts as regards the protests.
“I am being briefed regularly on the reform efforts ongoing to end police brutality and unethical conduct, and ensure that the Police are fully accountable to the people.” He said.
But this has gotten lots of social media users annoyed and have kick started the online protest against the resignation of the Country’s Leader. #BuhariResign
Recall that, SARS officers in some part of the country were extorting and killing innocent Nigerians some weeks back, and the government seeming not concerned, Celebrities and Youths have then taken to the street to start protests on the micro-blogging platforms, and physically in Lagos, Abuja and some other places until their voices are heard.
